Thomas Wolf - biography

(born 1984)

Thomas Wolf studied at the Leopold – Mozart – University in Augsburg and the State University of Music and the Performing Arts in Stuttgart, where he was educated in conducting. By the age of 22, he already established himself as conductor of the local youth orchestra and of the local wind band. Few years later he started working as teacher for low brass instruments and professional conductor.


Thomas Wolf participated in various masterclasses for conducting, for example with Prof. Maurice Hamers, Johan de Meij, Henrie Adams, Miguel Etchegoncelay and Johnny Ekkelboom. Since 2014 he studies conducting at the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory (Bolzano) in the class of Prof. Thomas Doss.


At the moment, Thomas Wolf is chief conductor of four orchestras and teacher of 45 low brass students. He is also a popular guest conductor, juror and lecturer. Thomas Wolf is involved in the education of wind band conductors in Southern Germany. As trombone player he is currently member in three different ensembles, including the Brass Band A7.
